Introduction
Generalidades
IPR certified providers must renew their certification every 2 years.
To apply for recertification providers need demonstrate their continued competence by
completing the online form
paying the recertification fee
completing continuing education courses or -
retaking the exam.
Los proveedores registrados en el International Paramedic Registry (IPR) deben acceder a la renovación de su certificación cada dos años.
Para aplicar a la recertificación se necesita:
Demostrar la competencia mediante la participación en educación continua o retomar el examen, y completar el formulario en línea y pagar la tarifa.
Recertification by continued education
CURSOS ESTANDARIZADOS
PR has pre-authorized currently valid certification received by successfully completing approved courses that are provided by officially approved training centers affiliated with NAEMT, ECSI, AHA, and CAPCE. IPR training centers may also submit courses for official approval, and will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
The following can not be applied as continued education for recertification.
- Paid or volunteer work, or service hours, for any organization or medical center. - Clinical rotations that are not part of initial EMS courses.
- Instructor (pedagogy) courses or instructor continuing education.
- Service as an IPR skills examinator.
- Duplicate courses (retaking a course with the same content as a previously completed course).

IPR ha preautorizado los cursos con certificación NAEMT, ECSI, AHA, así como los registrados en CAPCE, y preautorizará los cursos oficiales de los Centros de Entrenamiento Registrados en IPR*.
Lo siguiente no puede aplicarse a la formación continua para la recertificación:
- Horas de trabajo o de voluntariado en agencias.
- Horas de trabajo o de servicio pagadas o voluntarias para cualquier organización, agencia o centro médico.
-Rotaciones clínicas que no formen parte de un programa de cursos de SEM.
Cursos de metodología de instructor. Incluye todos los cursos para convertirse en instructor o cursos para alcanzar el nivel de instructor.
- Servir como examinador de habilidades. Incluye el examen de habilidades para los exámenes psicomotores del International Paramedic Registry.
-Los cursos que tienen el mismo contenido que otro.

IPR recertified providers must re-certify every two years from the initial or recertification date.
Una vez aprobada la recertificación, la nueva fecha de caducidad será dos años después de aprobada la recertificación.

Currently certified providers:
- Providers wishing to begin recertification may do so 180 calendar days before the expiration date and a maximum of 6 months after expiration.
Providers with expired IPR certification:
- Providers must complete the recertification process at most 6 months after expiration.
RECERTIFICATION FEES
Advanced Provider access: $40
Basic Provider access: $15
First responder access: $5

Los proveedores que deseen comenzar su recertificación pueden realizarlo 180 días calendario antes de la fecha de caducidad y máximo 6 meses después.
- Con certificación caducada
Después de los 6 meses el candidato a la recertificación debe iniciar el proceso de certificación nuevamente.

The following competencies should be valid (registered programs in CAPCE with an in-person component).

Option B/Opción B
Participate in a Refresher Course /Participa en un Refresher
This option consists of a structured course, previously authorized by IPR and given by n IPR registered training center, for those candidates that do not fulfill the mandatory block in option A*:
Consiste en un curso, previamente autorizado por IPR y dictado por un Centro de Entrenamiento Registrado, para aquellos candidatos que no cumplan con el bloque obligatorio de la opción A*
Option C/Opción C
Retake the exam Retomar el examen
In this option the candidate must retake the cognitive and practical exam in an authorized testing site by IPR.
Es esta opción el candidato retoma el examen cognitivo y práctico en un Sitio de Examen Autorizado por IPR.
Option D/Opción D
Medical management and employer/ Dirección médica y empleador
Based on the employer's work competency and educational guidelines, and with prior authorization from IPR, the medical director may request recertification of his/her staff.
*Employer registered with IPR.
Por competencia laboral y lineamientos educativos del empleador, y con previa autorización de IPR, el director médico puede solicitar la recertificación de su personal.
